POLLUTANTS IN OUR DRAINAGES
We all know that water drains to the ocean, but what happens to it before it gets there? On its journey, water travels through streams, valleys, rivers, and lagoons that comprise our watersheds. Often, that water is polluted by some of the most common contaminants in America's waterways: plastic, litter, debris, and hazardous waste, such as used motor oil and other lubricants. Type in your own address, select a pollutant - oil or plastic, and watch the path water follows from your neighborhood all the way to the ocean. On the way, you'll see what habitats these pollutants travel through and what natural resources are affected.
